Is Ride Or Die Really The Goal?
Ride or die; The epitome of loyalty, right?. A lot of people aspire to achieve this level of loyalty in their relationships whether that is with friends, family, or a significant other. But I have a question. Do you have this level of loyalty and support for yourself? We don’t really think about it, but the relationship you have with yourself is the most important one you will ever have. Do you have an unwavering source of support and loyalty you save for yourself?
In this life, you will have to be your biggest cheerleader. As hard as it may be to accept, you will not always be able to depend on others for their support and loyalty. It is a harsh truth, but it’s an important one. Humans make mistakes; we are all flawed. I’m sure you have had a time where you turned to someone close for support or encouragement, and the response you got was less than what you were looking for. That disappointment can cut really deep depending on how close you are to that person, even though it may not have been intentional.
This is the reason I am writing this post. You have to have that “ride or die” mentality for yourself! The same way you shouldn’t look to social media for validation, you cannot always depend on others for unwavering support. You have to be able to support and motivate yourself when needed. You know your strengths, weaknesses, and goals. You have everything you need within yourself to achieve your goals, so do not depend on others to help push you up the mountain. They may be able to help you when you fall, but you are the one that has to decide to get back up.
A hard truth that everyone should come to terms with, is that no one else can help you live your life. The same way you are responsible for getting yourself up for work, you are responsible for motivating yourself and keeping yourself grounded. You can’t expect others to do for you, what you are not willing to do for yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself, why should anyone else?
People will let you down at some point in time. As I said, it is not always intentional. They may be battling their own obstacles. But you know what you need when you need it. So, have that “ride or die” mentality for yourself. Find whatever tools or routines you need that will help motivate you. Believe in yourself when no one else will. Push yourself when no one else will. Be kind to yourself when no one else will. You can have all of the friends in the world, but you will have to walk through life’s struggles on your own. No one else can do it for you, which is why it is imperative to have unwavering loyalty and support for yourself from within yourself. It won’t always be easy, but you will never be disappointed, and you will always go farther than you imagined.
