Do you ever wish there were two of you? Between all of the different directions you are being pulled in and all the responsibilities you have, it would be so much easier if you just had another you, right? Well, I don’t have the answer on how to clone yourself, but I do have a few tips on how to achieve some sort of balance in your life. You have to find a balance otherwise you will find yourself just getting through life rather than enjoying it. The way you achieve that balance is with a mix of intention and time management.

1) Intention, should be your word of the year. If you want to actually enjoy living your life instead of just getting through it, you have to be intentional with pretty much everything you do. That can sound exhausting and very boring, but it is actually the opposite. Find ways to do what you want to do! The saying “where there is a will, there is a way,” didn’t burst out of thin air. Make a way for the things you want. If you want a promotion, find a way to obtain it. If you want a relationship, make sure you work on yourself, so that when you find your person, there won’t be anything or anyone standing in your way. Bottom line, don’t let life happen to you. Figure out what you want, and go get it.

2) Management. Yet another word that sounds the opposite of uplifting and inspiring, BUT is can be your best friend when it comes to living your life the way you want. Manage your time, and manage your energy. Make time for what you want! No one is going to do it for you. Figure out how to make time for the things that make you happy and stop making excuses. We all have the same 24 hours in a day. Use your 24 hours wisely, and you won’t be disappointed. Every second, minute, and hour counts; make the most of it and be wise with how you use your energy. Not everything or everyone deserves your time and or energy. Figure out what’s important, what’s not, and move accordingly. And be honest when figuring out what you choose to prioritize. Your ex does not deserve to waste more of your precious time. That person who keeps making shady comments about any and everything you do does not deserve your energy. Your family, no matter how much you love them, does not always deserve your attention. Don’t forget that your effort and energy is directly tied to your mental wellbeing. Don’t allow unnecessary negativity into your space. The point in choosing wisely is so that you protect yourself.

You may not achieve your perfect balance of intention and management overnight, but if you actively work at it, it can be done. Once you start to see how much happier and productive you are in all aspects of your life, you will wonder why you didn’t live like this sooner. Do the work because you deserve to live that happy life you’ve been working for.
