Modify Last Year’s Resolutions for this year!

Every year we promise ourselves that this will be the year we finish our list of New Year’s Resolutions. Then, we make an entirely new list of resolutions to work on. Why start from scratch, when you can build on what you have already started?
Don’t scrap last year’s resolutions, but tweak them and build on the progress you’ve already made! With a little guidance, you can build resolutions that you not only feel confident in, but are capable of achieving as well.
Instead of thinking of random goals that pop into your head and making a list of tall orders, pick up where you left off! Think back to the list of goals you set for yourself the prior year, or things you thought of that you wanted to improve on. Last year can serve as the foundation for this year’s resolutions, so use it to your advantage. For example, if your goal was to lose 30lbs last year, but you fell short, use that to build this year’s goals! You may have realized that working out 5 times a week is not feasible for you. Or that juice cleanses are not your forte. That is all useful information! This year, instead of confining yourself to losing 30lbs, make it your goal to work out 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes. Instead of trying juice cleanses, what if you tried a diet that only modified how you already eat instead of changing it all together?
The key to achieving your goals is to make them realistically fit into your lifestyle. Make goals that you will be able to work into your lifestyle, instead of just for a few weeks or months. You are going to have to put in quite a bit of work to see actual progress. But don’t let that discourage you! There is nothing better than the feeling of reaching the goal you set. How great is that feeling when you are able to slip into those jeans that used to cut off your circulation? How great is it when you realize you are doing exactly what you dreamed about a few years ago? Remember that feeling and let’s get to work!
Rather than scrap the goals you’ve started last year. Adjust them where needed and find what works for you! Don’t give up on the person you are working to become! Below are a few links that can help get you in the mindset you need to start this year off strong. This is your year! Don’t give up until you have crossed the finish line!
